Lori's fight

Lori Walker, a 36 year old wife and mother of a 10 month old boy and a 4 year old boy, was diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer on February 15, 2016. Her cancer is very aggressive! She will have a double mastectomy, and undergo a very difficult chemotherapy treatment every 3 weeks for at least a year. 

Unfortunately, this journey is not unfamiliar to Lori. She has stood by her mother and sister as they have battled breast cancer themselves. Not only has she had a family experience with breast cancer, but she also worked with the UNM Children's Oncology program. Lori currently works closely with the pediatric community taking care of the children of New Mexico. She works as a pediatric Nurse Practioner in a private practice in Albuquerque. 

During her treatment for the next year, her immune system will be compromised. Therefore, she will not be able to work with children who may be sick and will have to take a leave of absence from her career. 

Lori and her husband Sam will need all of the help and support they can get during this difficult, and unexpected time.  Lori has given so much to this community, it's time for US to support HER!
