Frankie’s Heart Surgery

Hello family and friends,

As some of you may know already, life as thrown Casey and Jack a huge curveball.

The last few weeks have been full of hospital stays and appointments for our Frankie. At only 3 months old, their worlds have been turned upside down as she has been unexpectedly diagnosed with a large VSD (hole in her heart). Initially Frankie was presenting in heart failure, with lethargy and failing to gain any weight. She has been commenced on medications for her heart and Casey and Jack have been doing a great job at helping Frankie gain some weight with extra feeds. Despite all of this, Frankie requires urgent specialist heart surgery at the Royal Children’s in Melbourne to repair the hole.

Casey and Jack will be making the daunting trip with Frankie in the next fortnight. We are very lucky with the healthcare system in Australia, however there will still be a large financial burden which includes several weeks accomodation, food, medications for Frankie and some travel costs, as well as Jack needing time off work. Any small donation will be so greatly appreciated as it will reduce some of the stress they are currently under, and will mean they can focus their energy into Frankie and caring for each other.

Please keep Frankie, Casey and Jack in your thoughts. We have everything crossed that surgery will be successful and that the 3 of them will be able to start enjoying life without the huge amount of stress they are under right now.
