Hi, my name is Emilia and I’m 8 years old. I go to Nantwich Primary Academy and I’m also in 5th Nantwich Brownies.
I started this campaign when I was working towards a Brownie badge about speaking out. I decided to speak out about litter because it is harmful to animals and the environment.
Every year in the UK, millions of animals are harmed by litter. Nantwich town centre is clean and well looked after, but in places like the Nantwich Loop near Queens Drive, and along the edges of busy roads around the town, there is often lots of rubbish in the bushes and along the paths.
I’ve been on litter picks and I also made a poster and a video to help tell people about the problem. I’ve also spoken at Nantwich Town Council to tell them about the problem, and they are working with me to help tackle litter in our town.
I need more help!
We would like to raise money to support sustainability action at my school and Brownies. The first project is buying litter-picking equipment like grabbers, gloves and bags at my school so pupils can safely take part in litter picks and help keep our town clean.
Thank you for helping me make Nantwich cleaner and safer for wildlife.
