Hi, my name is Joshua Dargie. I am the Producer for the TMU Thesis short film No One Heard Her. Our Director is Lauren Maron. We are both in our final year of the Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Film Program and are raising funds to help finance our Capstone Production No One Heard Her.
The funds raised for the production will be used towards assisting with location costs, production design, possible equipment rentals and food/ transportation costs for our cast and crew.
We will be handling all costs for the production ourselves. We are trying to raise a total of $5,000 to help fund our film and are incredibly grateful for any donations.
Lauren and I would like to thank you for supporting our film.
The synopsis for our production is below. The film is based off a real life event from Lauren's life.
No One Heard Her Synopsis:
Nicole, 9, lives with her grandfather Papa, who suffers from dementia, and her grandmother Nana in a quiet suburban neighbourhood outside of the Toronto area. One night, everything appears normal; Nicole watches cartoons while her Nana serves Papa his cocktail of different medicines. Before putting Papa to bed, Nana heads outside into the snowy wonderland to put the garbage cans out. However, after not returning, Nicole gets suspicious and follows Nana's tracks in hopes of finding her. Just past a bush, Nicole finds Nana lying on the driveway falling in and out of consciousness. Nicole sees that Nana can not get up and rushes back inside to call for help. She snatches a blanket off and takes it to Nana, but not before assuring Papa that nothing is wrong and that he should stay put. Once help arrives and Nana is rushed off to the hospital, Nicole's future is left uncertain as a police officer informs her that she will be taken somewhere safe since she cannot stay in the care of her Papa.
