Help Andy Navis battle Cancer
Donation protected
Our great friend and teammate, Andy Navis who is a North High Alumni, is a current employee of North High, and serving as the activities coordinator for the past 15 years. Andy has been actively coaching, mentoring, and inspiring all students while serving in his role.
On December 21st, Andy Navis went into Lakeview hospital in Stillwater, MN for a scheduled gallbladder surgery. Andy has been experiencing rapid weight loss prior to his surgery. His gallbladder repair went very well and continued to hold up, until the morning of January 11th. Andy was transported to United hospital in St. Paul with severe pains in his abdomen. After several tests and a colonoscopy, it was determined that he was diagnosed with colon cancer. Unfortunately, Andy is not able to have surgery right away. He was able to come home to allow antibiotics to take down the inflammation so he will be ready for surgery on Thursday, January 27th. Andy did have a scan and the preliminary results show no spread to his lungs.
As of today Tuesday, January 18th he has been improving everyday but is a very slow process. Andy's pain has been minimal and his body is allowing food to stay down. His Doctors will continue to take things slow and safe until he can have surgery on January 27th. The Doctors are optimistic about the next steps after surgery.
Andy has health insurance, but we don't know what this is going to cost and what will be covered by Insurance. We do anticipate some added expenses, as we are unsure of the next steps. This will be a long road to recovery for Andy.
The community here at North High misses Andy more and more everyday. Any donation to support Andy's journey to being CANCER-FREE would be greatly appreciated!!
