My name is Janae, a hard-working mother of 4 beautiful and smart children. I have fallen on hard times, and I’m embarrassed to say at this point I need the public’s help.

I’m behind on rent. I need to come up with about $2,500 to catch up on rent, which is about a month and a half. The added amount is because next month's rent is also right around the corner. The judge ruled in the landlord's favor, so I have been given 10 days to pay or appeal. Appealing gives me 10 more days. I don’t know what to do. I just need to catch up so I can maintain it.

If you can find it in your heart to help me, it will be greatly appreciated. I don’t have anywhere for me and my kids to go, and I don’t want to resort to a shelter. Please help me keep my kids home. The holidays are coming. We can’t be homeless :( There is no emergency funding due to the government shutdown. I am failing as a mother and provider… please help. I have a job; what put me behind is switching career paths and being capped at training pay, which was significantly less than what I was expecting. I just need a boost to help me get back on track.
