In Memory of Charlie
Donation protected
I created this fundraiser to help my childhood friend who suddenly and unexpectedly lost her daughter.
Charlie celebrated her 9th birthday yesterday. It has been years since I have seen Charlie, but I met her at the hospital when she was one day old. I can’t believe that was nine years ago already. I held her when she was a baby. I played with her when she was a toddler..... I remember when she was around 3 and she pushed a chair to the cabinet, grabbed a cup and poured a glass of milk by her self and Tiffany looked at me with tears in her eyes because “her baby wasn’t a baby anymore.” Little did Tiffany know, that was just the first sign that Charlie was an independent, headstrong kid! As life got in the way, I watched Charlie grow into a beautiful little girl through Facebook. It’s obvious she lived in a home full of love just from all the proud pictures her family would post. I worked with Charlie’s dad, John, and he would tell me about how much they prepared for her birthdays and Christmas. He would take pictures of all her gifts and proudly show them off to me. Lol Charlie spent her last day on earth celebrating her 9th birthday. I know it was a day filled with love.
I have known Tiffany and John for many years. Tiffany has had pretty serious medical problems that have been financially strenuous. Nothing can replace the loss of a child but if you can give anything so this family can just focus on grieving, it would make an immense difference. Thank you!
*Update: I had no idea that this story would reach so many people and that the donations would reach this scale! I can’t express the amount of gratitude I have for your generosity! This was my very first time creating a gofundme account and so I have no experience in the process. I consulted Tiffany about how to transfer these funds and she requested that her sisters and their spouses handle her finances for now. The five of us sat down to discuss how to properly transfer this small fortune and we selected Matt, Tiffany’s brother in law, as the best person to keep account of the donations. If anything has come out of this devastation, it’s that this family has an unimaginable support system. From those of you across the country who donated-to the circle of loved ones surrounding them, it’s a beautiful thing to witness.
