Addenbrookes Charitable Trust Neurosurgery Department

Just a few months ago, 28 year old Sam May was living life as a normal young man. Engaged over Christmas, planning his wedding for July 2026, spending time with family and friends, and enjoying his love of golf.

Everything changed when he was diagnosed with an inoperable pontine glioma, a tumour on the brain stem.

As ever, Sam was determined to make good of the situation and has launched the S.A.M Foundation to raise funds for the Addenbrookes Charitable Trust Neurosurgery Department, supporting research into new treatments and offering hope to future patients.

At the end of October, I will be taking on the Bondi to Manly 80km ultra-marathon and would thoroughly appreciate any donations towards Sam's foundation.

Growing up, Sam was an incredible friend and role model to me personally and to many others as well, and I'm forever thankful for the countless childhood memories on the golf course, football pitch and elsewhere. Sam is someone who has always found the positive in life, grabbed every opportunity and been the spark in the room.

If you’re able to contribute, no matter how big or small, it would mean the world and go directly towards helping Sam create something positive and lasting in the face of such a heartbreaking diagnosis.
