Hi there, my name is Mario. Nice to meet you, I just wish it were under better circumstances. During Hurricane Ida’s visit to NJ, my brand new living space (which I’ve only been in for 2 weeks) was completely flooded with sewer water. After a full day, the water has receded, but now there is dirt, mud, and human waste all over the floor, as well as an awful smell. All pictures and videos will be at the end of this. I hope you're ready, there are a lot.

While I was able to salvage some of my belongings, not everything was able to be saved. I’ve lost countless irreplaceable collectibles, photos, clothes, sneakers, electronics, appliances, cages and all food/supplies for my pets.

Shadow, my chinchilla, is now living in the small bathroom of the temporary place that I’m staying, along with Mochi, my flying squirrel. My dog, Oreo, lost his puppy bed, tent, and all of his toys too.

This has been just another bump in the road for me this year, but this one hit hard. I was let go from my job in February due to covid related business difficulties. I’ve spent money to furnish my living space, and now almost everything that I have is basically gone.

I’ve never been one to ask for money during hard times. It’s usually something that I’m able to figure out on my own. However, this time is different. Not only did I lose most of my belongings, I’ve lost my place to live, and my pets did too.

With any donations that I receive, I will be able to utilize them to sustain myself and my pets during this temporary living situation. I will also be able to start looking for a new place to live, along with hopefully being able to purchase some essentials, like a bed, couch, new laptop, and internet access so I can continue working on my job search, and new homes for my pets.
