So many of us have had the pleasure of having Maggie Larson-Arndt enter our lives in the most amazing ways. Whether through the business of buying, selling or renting a home in Mammoth Lakes, watching her sing at church or karaoke, hearing her cheer at one of her 5 children’s sporting events or meeting her through friends and family. No matter where, Maggie leaves an indelible impression.
Maggie has been my best friend for 30 years and having her in my life has been a great blessing. She has always been a source of laughter and great comfort to all who know her. I feel it necessary to do whatever I can to help her through this difficult time.
For those of you who know Maggie, you know she is a newlywed. In July, she married the love of her life Kenny. While most newlyweds are off enjoying the first year of wedded bliss, Maggie and Kenny went right back to work diligently putting the support of their new blended family of 8 children combined first.
So it is with a heavy heart that I have to share that Maggie was diagnosed with colon cancer this past week and she will be having surgery on Nov 12, 2018 to remove a 9 inch section. We join in prayer the cancer has not spread into her lymph nodes but we will not know the extent until the pathology is completed after surgery. Chemotherapy would most likely be the next steps after that.
We all know how strong Maggie is and how hard she works for her family but she will have a long road to recovery ahead of her. The surgery and recovery will be at City of Hope in Duarte which is 6 hours away.
As you all know, Maggie is a selfless person, compassionate, loving and she would do anything for anyone. She has all the faith in the world but right now, she needs our help.
