My name is Alyxandra, professional name Alyx Jae Shaw, and I am a disabled author living in Abbotsford with my support animal, Harvest. Recently things in my life took a turn when a friend who was helping to support me lost her ability to do so. This leaves me without enough money to pay rent as well as bills. As a diabetic with Type 2 I am unable to afford testing supplies and appropriate food. Yes the Food Bank helps but there is only so much they can do. I'm okay until the end of February but after that I could easily be on the street or in a shelter. Rent goes up but the Disability Pension and the Canada Pension Plan never seem to and to be honest I am scared.
