Dear friends,
As you know, Troy Doose has been in hospital for over two months now with major medical conditions. Troy has been battling heart disease for a long time. After incurring pneumonia, Troy's heart needed extra assistance with a heart pump. The heart pump was surgerically installed 3 months ago and since then Troy has incurred what feels like 1000 complications...from lung issues, fluid build up, blood pressure, etc. He went on ECMO, received 2 heart pumps (right and left), was put under paralysis, needed to have a tracheotomy inserted, then healed enough to have the right ventricle pump removed.... yep - steps forward. Then low and behold - leaps and bounds forward!!! Or so we thought. He left the hospital to physical therapy and rehab. Plans were made to spend Christmas Eve with the family. Then.......there are the ever-looming "steps back". Before Troy could come home for Christmas it was determined he had a blood clot in his one remaining heart pump. Back into surgery he went. "The surgery went well" is what the family is told......... remember those looming steps back? Yep - lungs aren't keeping up, and fluid build up is back - so, back on the ECMO, put back under paralysis - actually, we could say 'back to square 1'.
Troy is covering his end of the deal. He is fighting the fight of his life every single day. After 3 months he is still with us. And we, his family, are 100% positive he will win this fight. Once we have him back with us for good, we need him to spend time healing and recovering... slowly. We need baby steps forward, not leaps and bounds in a few days. In order for Troy to get through the months and months ahead, he needs help with the stresses of real life. One heart pump alone is $500,000.00. No you did not read that wrong. And no, that does not include the multiple surgeries, the hospital room, physical therapy etc, let alone his own bills. Troy is a proud man, and we all love him for that. He is also a kind man who would do just about anything for anybody. So we, his family, are asking for your help to help him keep this fight going. Please donate to Troy's cause. A little or a lot, it doesn't matter. It all means the same thing....which is "we love you Troy" and #DOOSESTRONG.
Thank you for your continued prayers and thoughts.
