I have created this account because God has presented me with a life-changing journey that I am in the process of preparing to embark on. For the last two weeks of July of 2017, I will be venturing out of the U.S. to the town of Mbarara, Uganda with Pearlene Nolan and a group from His Joy Ministries out of Snyder, Texas. On the duration of this trip we will be holding church meetings and outdoor street crusades as well as visiting sponsored children in their homes. Our trip will wind up with a day of Bible school and an Occupational School Graduation celebration. We will go to encourage people with the Word of God and to be vessels prepared to share His love, joy and the plethora of various other blessings Christ bestowed upon the world with His sacrifice.
What I am told of the culture is that, outside of the city, life is rather primitive- lacking water and electricity. The people are loving and joyful, despite their poverty. They are a people hungry and desperate for God. As a group, we will be taking on 14-16 hour days. Some of the villages we will be going to have a 2-4 hour travel time one way (I guess it is a good thing I’m from Texas). Uganda is one of the poorest countries in the world as well as one of the most densely populated per square mile. As I’ve been told and as I am sure to experience, when you go on such an adventure, in effort to bless others, you return as the one who was blessed. This is something I’m truly praying for. However, to be equipped for this journey I will be needing prayer- (primarily because it is the most powerful thing one can offer), encouragement, help with fund raisers and funds in general.
The entire cost of the trip will total right around $4,500- a little over half of which I will be needing by the end of March, beginning of April, in order to pay for airfare in a timely manner ($2500). Upon reaching Uganda, I will need enough money to cover the cost of my room (approximately $70 a night) and food. I will be doing my best to cover the preliminary costs of my passport and vaccines out of pocket and any additional funds I can spare will be going toward this trip. As I mentioned before, I will also be needing help with fund raisers. Please pray about how God would have you contribute. Also, feel free to contact me if you have any ideas or would like to be a part of fund raising. I have included pictures of some of the sponsored children, contact information, as well as whom to make checks to if you are uncomfortable using GoFundMe.

While funds are still needed, please do not forget the importance and power that prayer has over this trip. Things that I ask y’all to pray for, if you feel so lead, include:
• Lives will be touched in a way that only God can touch them
• Safe travels to, from and throughout Uganda
• The needs of the trip will be met
• God goes before us to prepare our hearts and the hearts of those we reach out to
If you have any questions, message me on Facebook and I will be happy to provide you with further contact information. Please know that every little bit helps and is greatly appreciated. Remember the widow's mite.
God bless,
Jeneva
