Help for an overwhelming hospital bill

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Christian and I'm knocking in everyone's door for help, My wife's name is Portia and we are from the Philippines. Her current status in Canada is on a visitor visa and her travel insurance is expiring on March 19, 2024. On February 29, 2024 I rushed her to the hospital due to extreme abdominal pain. As we arrive we were told that she needs immediate attention, blood work and ct scan was requested right away.
According to the result of the blood work and ct scan, she has a big mass in the uterus and some smaller masses in the ovary, her blood has infections, and there is a fluid build up in the abdominal area. The doctor in-charge referred her to be transferred to another hospital that has specialty in gyne oncology. So from South Health Campus Medical Centre she was transferred to Foothills Medical Centre.
Another set of test were requested for her after she was situated in a ward at Foothills which resulted the same though at that moment Portia is now having a hard time breathing, her left leg and abdomen are so swollen at that time aside from the fact that she is in terrible pain.
Her situation has gotten worse after a day so the doctors decided to do an ultrasound and drain her abdominal fluids that's causing to push her diaphragm and lungs that causes her breathing problem. 1.8L of fluid was taken away from her.
This did not resolve the breathing problem. On the same day her right leg was starting to swell. The doctor in-charge now decided to open her up and check what is the exact condition inside her body so he got the approval from me and my wife and scheduled the operation for March 4, 2024.
After almost 4 days Portia had her operation and was brought to the ICU. The doctors were able to find the big mass in her uterus and now a ruptured mass in the ovary. The fluids coming out of the ruptured ovarian mass had mixed with the fluid buildup in the abdomen that caused her blood infection. Both ovaries are now removed along with her uterus. As per the doctors the mass does not look like it's cancerous and the fluids tested negative of cancer cells but they are still waiting for the biopsy from the masses to know its exact nature.
At the moment she is still swollen and the doctors and nurses are now battling the infection that is all over her body. The cut from the operation is still open due to the swelling on her abdomen and both in arms and legs. She is currently under a respirator to do the breathing for her and she is heavily sedated since she got out of her 1st trip to the operating room.

Doctors are still waiting for the swelling to subside until they can finally close the cut from the operation. every time they bring her to the OR they try to stitch her up bit by bit and clean the abdominal area as well. She now has a total of 4 trips to the OR on a two day interval and possibly more to come. Most recently the doctors found some infections on her bowel which is giving her high fever so they are now bombarding her with antibiotics and an ostomy was made where they put a hole on her belly as the temporary outtake of her stool.

I was told by the social worker to go to the hospital business office to talk about the finances. As i went there i was informed about the itemized amount for the use of the hospital facilities not including doctors fee and informed me that the $25,000 insurance coverage was already consumed. It was also overwhelming to see that a day in a ward which we have stayed for 3 days is $5,957.50/day that totaled to $17,872.50 and $16,885.00 a day in the ICU which started March 1, 2024 to the present (March 12, 2024) and is now running at $202,620 and possibly more days to follow. I have no information yet about the OR fees and the doctors fees. I was also told that the anesthesiologist needs upfront payment.

I don't know how much further it will cost but for me the life and recovery of my wife is more important. I am only a temporary foreign worker with a $15/hr rate here in Canada and my contract is only for two years. Even if i give them all my salary for the remainder of my contract or maybe for the rest of my lifetime, can i pay such an amount. I'm now starting a fundraiser to help me start saving money for my wife's upcoming hospital bill. As of the moment I am already in deep gratitude to everyone who took time in reading our story and even more to those who are willing to help us and lead us in the right people/institution in regards with our financial difficulty. I will provide updates if allowed. Thank you very much
