Our family is reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for support as my cousin prepares to welcome her baby boy AJ into the world under very difficult circumstances. During her pregnancy, doctors diagnosed their soon-to-be newborn son with Pulmonary Atresia with Intact Ventricular Septum (PA/IVS) — a rare congenital heart condition in which the pulmonary valve does not form correctly, preventing blood from flowing from the heart to the lungs. This condition is extremely serious and requires specialized care immediately after birth, including possible surgeries, catheter procedures, and long-term treatment.
Because of this diagnosis, AJ will not be able to leave the hospital after delivery. Instead, he will be taken directly to the NICU and pediatric cardiac team for emergency care and monitoring. They are preparing for a long hospital stay, as well as multiple interventions that may continue throughout infancy and childhood.
While they are doing everything they can emotionally and medically for their baby, the financial reality is overwhelming. They are going to be facing significant medical bills, extended hospital stays, specialist appointments, travel expenses, and unpredictable long-term care costs. These expenses add up quickly
I’ve created this GoFundMe to give friends, family, and kind strangers a way to help during this incredibly challenging time. Every contribution — no matter the size — will go directly toward baby AJ’s medical treatment, hospital care, and associated expenses. If you are unable to donate, sharing their story means more than we can express.
We are deeply grateful for your support, prayers, and encouragement as we fight for Aj’s health. Thank you for helping us give him the chance to grow, to thrive, and to experience life beyond the hospital walls.
With love and gratitude,
AJ’s God mom - Ivette.
