Support Brian's Battle Against Cancer

My name is Elena and I’m going to give you just a small look into the life of the wonderful man in this picture.

His name is Brian and he has been married to my mother for 25 years. He’s not just my stepdad. He’s been a caregiver, a mechanic, a jokester, a hard worker… he would give you the shirt off his back if that’s what you needed. He gives great advice, does some beautiful carpentry, and can solve almost any sudoku puzzle (except the Rubik's cube one). He loves his family and wants nothing but success and long healthy lives for all of us.

When my mom got sick, he was there. He took her to appointments, made sure she had whatever she needed, and always did his best to soothe her worry. But now he’s sick and I want to help soothe his worry.

On January 7th, 2025, he was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic small cell carcinoma. The doctors immediately set him up with three straight days of aggressive chemotherapy. So far, there’s some hair loss and a little chemo belly to go with some foot edema. He has a good appetite but can’t do much as he’s attached to an oxygen tank. (If you know Brian, you know that before he got sick, he didn’t stop moving until it was time for bed.)

My parents have already received just under $9,000 in medical bills and that’s just from tests and appointments towards the end of last year. Insurance only approves and covers so much.

I don’t want what could be his last days to be filled with worry that he will leave his wife and family with a stack of bills. No one should have to worry about that when they’re going through so much.
