I need a bed.
Donation protected
I didn't want to do this. I hate to beg, and if you know me, I don't even like to ask for help. Even when I need it. About 5 years ago I got a staph infection. It also infected bone, which the first hospital failed to properly treat. So a year and a different hospital later, it was finally addressed, and healing was in sight. Unfortunately, this hospital was not able to deal with the lingering wound, and actually became worse. The wound, not the infection. After 2 years, I went to a different hospital, who not only addressed the wound but also found fluid in my lungs, and stones that were almost completly blocking my kidneys and bladder. After more surgeries to fix these problems, I was finally ready to address the wound. I have essentially been bed bound for years.
I told you that to tell you this. Since 2004 I have had a medical bed that was conducive to my situation, and has helped in the healing of multiple sores. Unfortunately, it is now broken. As in, I am basically sleeping in a piece of plastic, with only the equivalent of a pool raft cushioming me. I've been trying for 5 months now to get a new, medically appropriate bed. Not it only help promote healing after the surgery I'm going to need to finally heal this wound, but going forward will prevent another incident.
I'm living on disability and medicare/cal, so this could cost anywhere between $500 and $15,000. But I don't trust the government, so I'm setting a high limit. Anything donated beyond what is needed will be donated to charity. Probably for dogs. Do you hate dogs?
Thanks for reading. And even if you think I'm full of shit, donate to dogs. You're already here, just help a dog or 12.
