Hi, I am fundraising for my dear friend Jessica Thomas & her husband Chris Thomas. Together, Chris & Jess have two amazing children, ages 8 & 12.

Chris and Jessica were first diagnosed with Covid-19 on August 14. While Chris was able to quarantine at home, Jessica was rushed to the emergency room just five days after receiving a positive test result, due to dangerously low oxygen levels. She was then diagnosed with Covid pneumonia.

On August 26, Jessica was placed on a ventilator & put on a waitlist for an ECMO machine. Six days later our prayers were answered & Jessica was hooked up to the ECMO machine and transported to a better equipped hospital in Oklahoma City.

As of today, she is still on a ventilator as well as the ECMO machine. She is now also on paralytic medication to allow her body to heal. The plan is to lower her sedation and perform a tracheotomy within the next couple of days if possible.

Jess & her family still have a long road ahead of them. Since Chris has recovered from Covid-19, he has stuck by Jessica’s side. Raising two kids & making a 3 hour roundtrip daily to the hospital leaves very little time for him to work. Medical bills are stacking up & at this time we do not know how long Jessica’s recovery will take or what the future will look like. Jess is fighting hard & we can’t wait for the day that she is healed and can once again spread her contagious smile & laugh with the world, that we all love so much!
