KITTEN FOOD & LITTER FUNDS NEEDED!!!!
BACKGROUND: Two weeks ago a neighbor reached out on NextDoor for help with a feral mom & 5 kittens born in her backyard she had been feeding. She needed help grabbing them all to get them to the local shelter. I’m the neighborhoods “cat lady” so everyone told her to contact me and I went over to assess. We had a mom, dad, and 5 almost 8week old kittens never socialized. Due to the insane kitten season and lack of fosters the local shelter was going to have to TNR (trap, neuter/spay, return to field) them ALL. I said no way these kittens were scared not feral and could be socialized, so instead I networked my behind off and turned into an impromptu full blown foster based kitten rescue.
Long story short mom & dad have now been TNRd, I have one kitten in a foster-to-adopt home (the adopters are covering all expenses for medical/food/etc NONE of this money will go to that family), 1 kitten in foster care with a neighbor, 2 kittens in foster care with a friend of mine, and 1 kitten eluding all traps still with mom but on surveillance and after a week of letting them decompress from the five days it took to trap everyone else we are bringing in a drop trap to get the last baby and get her into another friends home for foster care.
WHAT I NEED:
I normally do straight TNR but now I’m a full blown rescue. I needed to buy the necessary supplies (playpen - I only had two; kitten sized food/water bowls; kitten sized litter boxes; pooper scoopers; kitten food; litter; toys/beds; additional carriers for them to turn into caves/beds; and cleaning supplies) to outfit three different foster homes who had never fostered before, they are simply friends/neighbors stepping up and helping me and these kittens out. I will be bootstrapping sourcing low cost flea meds/vaccines/spays/etc from other rescue contacts who are too full to intake anyone new and lose any of their fosters that are needed for sick/orphan kitties - I get it these kittens are VERY healthy just a little spicy/scared/shy so it’s a triage issue and these kittens are “safe” the established rescues need to help the ones that aren’t. I will charge the adopters the medical costs directly, but food/litter/habitat needs for undersocialized kittens are all coming from my pocket. I do not have the funds - I have been unemployed for over a year now - but I couldn't let these kittens be relegated to a life on the streets.
If you can send me funds to cover what I have already spent (see receipts) and to cover the upcoming costs until I find adopters for the last four kittens it would be greatly appreciated!!!!!
If you would rather donate directly to me so the money doesn't go towards the GFM fees my Venmo/PayPal is AlisaLK. I have been posting and will continue to post updates on my rescue Instagram account @Hedwig_the_Ragdoll if you want to see more videos/pictures.
Thank you for your generosity!
