In September I’m going to be spending 6 months with youth with a mission (YWAM) which is a Christian mission organisation. I’m doing to be doing their six month course called ‘discipleship training programme’ at their base in Harpenden (which is in the south of England).
As part of this course, I will have the opportunity to develop my faith and my relationship with God through spending the first three months in the school learning about all aspects of the Christian faith and digging deep into the Bible. The school I will be going to also has a particular focus on the power of prayer and worship in our relationship with Jesus, that intimacy with Him can change our lives and change the nations.
The second three months will involve going on mission abroad to share Jesus and to serve communities in the places where we are based.
As I have been praying about the time after finishing university over the past year, I have felt a growing desire inside of me to devote my time fully to God, to grow in my relationship with Him and to be stretched in the way that I serve Him. I fully expect that my 6 months doing DTS will come with challenges and changes from my normal, however I believe that God is calling me to serve Him wholeheartedly in this time and that through it He will expand me in so many ways.
DTS is voluntary and self-funded which means that I need to gather the funds needed for the course fees, travel insurance and travel costs independently. If you are able to support me financially, and would like to contribute in any way, your support would be greatly appreciated.
