Have you ever started a project and it turned out to be bigger than you thought?
In an effort to surprise the students and refresh the school, a group of parents and friends of St. Colette got together to repaint and change the 28 year old carpeting in the halls. The painting parties were formed as well as a carpet removal group and we got to work! We had a donor for the paint and another donor to match funds for the carpet. When the carpet removal group started to remove the carpet, they realized the tiles below were loose. The team called for help and received a $38,000 bill for asbestos abatement. There was no turning back, the tiles were gone with the asbestos.
The volunteers have done a great job, but this is where we need you! We are raising funds for the donor match of the carpeting and to cover the asbestos abatement. School starts in a few days. We have less than 90 days to pay for the carpet and asbestos removal.
