PLEASE HELP US. Five days ago our lives changed completely. To be honest I still can't fully comprehend what happened but I'll start at the beginning... ******(PER LA DESCRIZIONE IN ITALIANO, SCORRI IN BASSO NELLA PAGINA)******

My boyfriend started having headaches about a month ago. After a visit at the GP and later the physiotherapist the headaches had only been getting worse. The doctors told us it was probably due to bad posture or stress. We felt like we tried everything we possibly could but nothing would relieve the pain.  At this point the pain was already so bad that my boyfriend could not enjoy anything anymore. He mostly spend his days in bed and wasn't able to go into work anymore. We were both so worried and had no idea what to do, but really tried not to assume anything "really" bad was going on.

Then on Tuesday the 13th of October Andrea felt so desperate that he really wanted to go to the hospital and so he did. Only to find out that it would cost him $500 to get emitted into the ER since he is not funded in New-Zealand. Because he doesn't have any insurance he decided to go back home and look for other options.

Not long after this he got really confused and couldn't remember anything that had happened that day. This is the moment where I started to get really worried. I called the ER immediately and explained them the situation. They told me to bring him in immediately so I drove him to the hospital, paid the $500 and from that moment we just waited.

After the CAT-scan, we got the news we least hoped for. The doctor told us they found a mass in the left frontal side of his brain and he needed to be hospitalised straight away. After the MRI-scan the next day it was clear how large the mass was and how important is was to get the tumor out of his brain as soon as possible. Luckily for us they were able to plan him in for surgery the next morning.

Andrea is only 31 years old from Italy and we are living in New-Zealand at the moment, we were working to save up to travel later this year on our Working Holiday Visa. Even though it is so difficult to go through this without our family here, Andrea has been so positive, strong and calm. He is such an amazing person and even though it should've been the other way around he gives me so much strength. He is so considered and kind and always tries to help everyone around him. This is why I want to ask you humbly to please help him, now that HE REALLY needs it.

At the moment he is recovering from his really intens surgery and we are waiting until it is safe for him to fly. As soon as this is the case we will fly back to Italy so he can get further treatment.  The doctors said it is really important for him to get further treatment as soon as possible. So we might be flying back within a couple of weeks.

With this whole situation already being really stressful the medical bill is the last thing we want to think about. So I really hope you can help Andrea to give him the peace of mind he needs to recover, to get strong enough to fly, be with his family and get the further treatment he needs.

Thank you so much for reading Andrea's story and for any possible donations. Together with your help, and all the amazing love and support we receive, I strongly believe that Andrea will beat this tumor.
