Ángel Mathias López Centeno is a brave Nicaraguan boy who, at just six months old, began facing a tough battle against Tay-Sachs, a rare genetic disease that has caused progressive regression in his psychomotor development. This little warrior has lost the ability to move, speak, and see, and relies on a gastric button for feeding. His parents, with limited resources but immense love, have done everything possible to keep him alive and provide care. However, in Nicaragua, where medical research is limited, they have been told there is no treatment or cure for this disease, and Ángel’s life expectancy is low. Still, his parents do not give up. They fight every day to give Ángel the best quality of life possible. To do so, they urgently need a special wheelchair, an adapted bed, a specific diet for his needs, and medications to control his daily seizures.
