Hello everyone,

My name is Rasha Alwazir, and I am from Gaza, Palestine. I am a single mother and the sole provider for my two wonderful sons, Adam (12) and Esmail (17). Our journey began on October 7, 2023, when the war destroyed our home and our city. Since then, the war has continued relentlessly. We first fled to the south, to Khan Younis and Rafah, in search of safety. But the war followed us, leaving no place safe. After that, we moved to the middle of Gaza, to Al-Zawaida, and eventually ended up in temporary tents, where we spent two months living in unbearable conditions. The scars of those two months in the tents still haunt us every day. We faced constant fear, loss of loved ones, the horrors of war, and the spread of diseases. Even now, we continue to suffer from the aftermath.

As the sole provider for my children, I have lost everything—our home, our belongings, and any sense of stability. My sons, Adam and Esmail, have been deprived of their right to education, as all schools and universities in Gaza have been destroyed. Their future, like so many others here, has been stolen by the war.

Despite all of this, I will stop at nothing to give my children the life they deserve, free from the horrors of war. I refuse to let them lose their dreams.

Why This Fundraiser Matters

I am seeking $40,000 to help us escape Gaza and find safety. These funds will be used as follows:

• $5,000 for each adult (over 16 years old) for special permits to cross the Egyptian border.

• $2,500 for each child (under 16 years old) for special permits to cross the Egyptian border.

The remaining funds will help us settle in Egypt for the first few months and cover the costs of continuing my sons’ education, which has been interrupted due to the destruction of schools and universities in Gaza.

This fundraiser is not just about survival; it’s about giving my sons the future they deserve—a chance to rebuild their lives and their education, stolen from them by this war.
