A Purrfect Rescue

I'm on Team Vanessa, and I'm inviting you to join me in supporting her rescue of a kitten family.  Meow can you help?  I'm asking you to please join me by contributing whatever you can to this campaign to help with the veterinary costs that will see each little one to a loving, safe, permanent home - one far and away from their rough and meager start, thanks to Vanessa.

Vanessa, my friend, is a bonafide animal superheroine. In her life so far she's had cats, dogs, rabbits, mice, rats, hamsters, and even a pet sitting business. She's put in major time as a volunteer for local animal welfare organizations, but she's never rescued an animal from the field before - until now. This week, with essentially no prior experience, in a matter of a couple of days, Vanessa learned how to trap cats and kittens and actually DID IT in order to help an at-risk colony she discovered in her Cupertino community. Can you spot the babies?

Vanessa is not only managing the recovery and return (TNR) of the kittens' parents, this male and female breeding pair that have just been spayed and neutered...

...but she's also mothering and fostering for adoption three of the four precious kittens (having already found a loving home for the fourth).

Aside from her vast commitment (sharing her home, time, and energy), Vanessa faces extensive veterinary expenses. None of these kitties were in the best of shape to start, and at least one surely would have died if not for Vanessa's rapid response. But with the proper care in the coming weeks, they are expected to thrive. The parents are too feral to be homed and will be returned to the neighborhood they know, where they will continue to be fed by the community. So, in addition to covering the spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, etc for the parents, the veterinary costs for the kittens, including their eventual spay/neuter so they can be adopted, are necessary and considerable. Food, litter, and other supplies add up too!

Specifically, with regard to veterinary care, your donations go to all of the following for all 5 cats:

 - Exams
 - Parasite screening
 - Xrays
 - Medications
 - Vaccinations
 - FELV/FIV Testing
 - Microchipping
 - Spay/neuter
 - Overnight veterinary boarding

So once again, I'm asking you to please join me on Team Vanessa by contributing whatever you can to this campaign. Thank you!

(Follow this fundraiser to receive updates on their progress and information on how to adopt, if you’re interested.)
