Martha Mayfield Terminal Cancer
At the beginning of this month I took my mother to the doctor thinking she may have had a mini stroke due to one side of her body lacking motor control. Completely blindsided and not able to go see her or be with her because of COVID, we got the news that her condition was much worse than we had thought.
She was diagnosed with late stage brain cancer with one large tumor in the center of her brain and three more lesions. In addition it seemed the tumors had traveled from somewhere and scans revealed a mass in her uterus the size of a 7 month pregnancy. Another tumor. All cancerous and unfortunately all are inoperable. Afterbrain surgery to put in a shunt to relieve spinal fluid she started radiation with no improvement. Hospital bills are already hitting and the toll all of this is taking on my family is apparent.
Today, May 20, 2020 we got a call from the hospital saying she is on track to be sent home with hospice. End of life care to make her last moments painless and comfortable.
Asking for donations to help with hospital costs, 24/7 care, an electric scooter, andhospice care costs. Will also help out my family and my dad tremendously in getting through this. Anything will help my family and I. Thank you.
