Neighbors Helping Neighbors

URGENT: There is a family in our community that is struggling to survive. They are a family of five. The husband has been gravely ill and has not been able to work consistently since October. The truck they own is broken down.  The rent is due and is going from $900 to $1200 this month. The mom is working seven days a week but is literally unable to put enough food on the table. The parents are undocumented and cannot or are afraid to access assistance.

I spent yesterday calling 21 different assistance agencies. But so far I have come up empty handed. Frankly, it seems that there are no agencies that assist undocumented individuals. I have a few other avenues I am pursing, but in the meantime I am asking for your help to keep this family off the streets.

I realize that this type of help doesn’t solve the problem nor is it sustainable but if we can help right now and give them some breathing room I will continue to seek longer term assistance for them. I am currently waiting for some return calls.
