Hey Friends! A dear friend of mine, Jenna is expecting her second child, a sweet baby boy. Jenna and her husband found out at Jenna’s 20-week check up that their baby had some very serious and rare complications. He was diagnosed with CDH. CDH (Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia) is a birth defect that leaves an opening in the baby's diaphragm, allowing lower internal organs to move into the chest cavity. It occurs in about 1 in 3,000 babies. This condition pushes the heart over and hinders lung growth. Babies born with CDH require major medical intervention and surgery and typically remain in the NICU anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months. Please read more from Jenna:
“After a recent fetal MRI, we were heartbroken to hear that sweet baby Caleb has been given 20-30% survival rate. After much research and recommendations, we feel like the best place for Caleb to be treated is in St. Petersburg, FL at John Hopkins All Children's Hospital. It's been a heavy and emotional journey so far and with so much uncertainty on the road ahead, we are beyond thankful for the support, encouragement and continue prayer from friends and family. The cost of medical bills already coming our way, traveling across the country and figuring out where to stay when we are there...are all overwhelming and daunting things we are having to process through. Yet we continue to hold on to hope and know God will provide. Thank you for your support and we graciously ask for ongoing prayer for a miracle over baby Caleb, wisdom and knowledge for the doctors and nurses, and peace in our hearts through it all. ”
Would you consider making a donation to this sweet family? If you are not able to make a monetary donation, would you PLEASE lift this family up in your prayers! Thanks to you all and God Bless!
