I'm Angela Stier and I'm starting this go fund me on behalf of my son (Dakota Reinking) and his girlfriend (Lea Platt). Their son, (my grandson) Matthew was born at 24 weeks on June 10th,2020, weighing 11 ounces at birth. Since his birth, Matthew has underwent 11 surgeries, the latest surgery being a  tracheostomy, which was done about two weeks ago. Since Matthew's surgery, his situation has declined and he has not responded to the surgery the way the Doctor's had hoped he would. Matthew has now gone septic and developed a staph infection which could potentially lead to pneumonia.

     Since Matthew was born so prematurely, he has chronic lung disease, which is often common amongst babies born too early, needless to say, developing pneumonia could be extremely hard on him. A meeting with Matthew's parents and Doctor's took place at the start of the week and they have unanimously decided that transporting Matthew to Riley Hospital in Indianapolis was in his best interest. The drawback for his parents is that they're still here in Fort Wayne. We have no idea at this time how long Matthew will be at Riley's.

     Since no one anticipated this change in such a short amount of time, his parents are left trying to figure out how they are going to be able to stay closer to their son, so they are going to need help with lodging/food/travel/gas expenses.
