Brooklyn Mass Shooting Kylis' Funeral Service

Who prepares for the killing of their 20-year-old son?

Tendea Family is a grassroots organization based in Baltimore City with the purpose of advancing and serving Baltimore's Black community.

We are reaching out on behalf of Ms. Tamika, the mother of Kylis Fagbemi, to garner financial support for this tragedy. She has lost her 20-year-old son because of a mass shooting that happened during an annual block party in Brooklyn- a neighborhood in the southernmost part of Baltimore City on July 1st, 2023. Kylis was one of the two people killed in this incident, where 28 others were wounded also. The majority of them were teenagers. Kylis leaves behind his mother, sister, family, and dear friends.

Ms. Tamika has allowed us to help her in raising all the funeral expenses for her son. We understand that this will take a community effort so we ask that any supporters offer what you can.

According to his mother, "Kylis was a funny kid who had a personality and smile that can light up a room. His laugh was unique. Kylis used to be a math tutor and he loved technology. Kylis was a very intelligent kid. He loved to work and take care of me. He was my protector, my heart."

We know that the community is not only outraged but also deeply disturbed and saddened by this event. Know that all of the money raised will be distributed directly to Kylis's mother to support the immediate and ongoing needs of their family, specifically the cost of Kylis's funeral services needed by July 19th, 2023.
