Help Jessica continue caring for her children

We need to help Jessica take care of her children with the loss of her husband, Tom. 

Jessica, my beloved sister, has been happily married to my brother in-law, Tom, for 10 years but they started dating about 8 years before that. They have two beautiful children (Seby 6 years old- Brooklyn 2 years old) and two dogs (Bowie and Dori). As a family they enjoy going on walks, playing games, watching movies, rocking out to music, being silly, and spending time together.

Tom, 42 years old, was a loving husband, father, son, uncle, brother, brother in-law, and friend. He was the friendly giant with a warm soul. Tom was one of the most intelligent people I knew. His creative writing abilities would leave you in awe and conversations with him would make you think or considering a new point of view. Tom’s good sense of humor would also keep you laughing.

Unexpectedly, this past November 2020, Tom had minor surgery but felt something was not right. Shortly after, our family was devastated to learn he had been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, which had already quickly spread to other major organs. Since then, Tom had experienced many complications with procedures and his organs began failing him.

Tom was put on life support in late December and was not even able to start chemotherapy to combat the cancer.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, visiting hours were extremely limited. However, this did not stop my sister from working with the medical staff day and night to allow her to be by his side every chance she was afforded. Within these last grueling months, Jessica has been balancing the role of full-time working mom, caretaker to two little ones and running a household with that of a loving and supportive wife, tending to her husband in the limited ways that she could.

Our hearts are broken from receiving the news on January 9, 2021 that Tom passed away. A big void has been left in our family without his presence. The pain we are feeling is indescribable. Due to the uncertainty that Jessica is facing, we want to help her prepare and plan for the future of her two beautiful children. Jessica has lost the love of her life, her best friend, the father of her children, but also the second income that a middle-class family relies on.

Although Jessica has not asked for financial assistance, we know, even with insurance, medical bills will continue to add up. The procedures Tom has had for complications and the hospitalization continues to be a burden on top of their regular household bills and now the funeral expenses. Your generous donation can help ease some of the stress and lighten the burden that Jessica and our family are currently dealing with in this very difficult time.
