Calling Madi’s Angels

Madi is a ray of sunshine whose bright light was clouded just a short time ago. On December 14th, Madi had an MRI searching for a cause for her headaches she'd been having since August. That same day, she was unexpectedly diagnosed with a brain tumor, and things have moved extremely fast from there. Madi was sent to LV Reilly Children's Hospital, where she underwent a 5 hour surgery to remove the tumor the very next day. Madi had some challenges coming out of surgery with waking up. A CAT scan was ordered to check for bleeding or any other possible complications. The CAT scan showed some minor bleeding, which is normal, but otherwise, all was ok. A post-op MRI confirmed that the surgeon was able to completely remove the tumor, which is confirmed to be a medulloblastoma. Madi is still not fully awake and communicating. However, she is now squeezing hands, wiggling toes, gives the occasional thumbs up and a few words of sass here and there!

Madi is a graduate of Good Shepherd Catholic School in Northampton, and she currently attends Allentown Central Catholic as a freshman. Madi and her family are parishioners at Holy Trinity in Whitehall where Madi also serves as an alter server. In Madi's free time she enjoys basketball and volleyball. You can also find her on stage because Madi loves having a part in school plays and the performing arts. Madi is also an excellent violin and piano player.

Once recovered, Madi will continue her road to recovery at CHOP with the best team of oncologists. This will put hardship on the family both emotionally and financially. Please consider a generous donation to help offset the financial burden so the family can focus on getting Madi back to health!
