Keep Cinco De Mayo Thriving In New Brunswick
Donation protected
On behalf of the New Brunswick Hardcore/Punk/DIY scene, I am asking for donations to help Cinco De Mayo pay their water bill.
Cinco de Mayo is a Mexican restaurant in New Brunswick run by Fernando Luna and his wife. Going back to the late 2000's, Cinco de Mayo has been a fixture in the New Brunswick/greater New Jersey punk, hardcore, and DIY music communities. They opened their doors in a very welcoming manner to hordes of show attendees as a late-night spot after New Brunswick basement shows for decades. For the last two years, they have been kind enough to host countless shows inside the restaurant.
The city of New Brunswick has failed to read their water meter for multiple years and recently hit them with a water bill exceeding $8000. Nonpayment of this bill jeopardizes the continued existence of the business and by proxy a place for our scene to thrive. Please consider donating to help keep the doors open and the lights on at an establishment which has done so much for our community for so many years.
