Viviana and Ricardo's liver transplant.

Donation protected
On September 21, 2022 my sister and I will be undergoing for a liver transplant. Due to my sister's Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis, we'll be out for a 6-month Recovery.

Viviana's story:

When I was 11 years old I got diagnosed with Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis which is a progressive illness that causes scarring and inflammation on the bile ducts which often causes the liver to stop working properly. Because of this I developed cirrhosis of my liver, leaving me with no other option than to get a liver transplant.

Since December of 2020 I've on the transplant list and once we found out I could have a living donor my family didn't hesitate to get tested. Thankfully my brother was a match. He didn't think twice when they told him he could be a donor.

As he was getting tested my illness kept getting worse and I can't thank my family and friends enough for helping me through this journey because it has been everything but easy. The more time passed the more appointments I had, the more pills I had to take and the more hospital stays I had.

Being 23 and having to take 30 pills a day and constantly having to stay in the hospital isn't easy but thanks to my brother I will be able to live a semi normal life again. I will have to take medication but I won't be as fatigue, nauseous or in pain and I can't more grateful for my brother for giving me another chance in life.

Ricardo's story:

I started this journey in early 2021. When I found out Viviana needed a transplant there was no question on what I had to do. This journey I've had to do every test known to man and switch my entire diet and schedule but it has been worth it for her. My sister has been my best friend and my twin ever since we were kids (my mom used to buy us matching clothes). It has been a hard and long journey but I would do anything for her no matter what.

This surgery will leave us recovering for a couple months and having our family take care of us. Ricardo won't be able to work for a bit so any donation helps us to pay for our bills and help our family take care of us. Everything will be completely appreciated and please share this if you can. Thank you to everyone that has been part of this journey and thank you for reading this far. For any questions or anything please message us and reach out. To everyone reading, wish us luck on this new journey for us and have a blessed day.
