Your Donation Will Provide:
*Metrocards
*Hot Meals
*Employment Opportunities for disenfranchised youth
*Musical Equipment
*Writing Materials and Art Supplies
*Recording & Performance Opportunities
*One on One mentoring time with incredible teaching artists
WHY we employ formerly incarcerated participants?
Our youth on Rikers Island involved in our music production centered program, Beyond Beats and Bars, have shown extremely high levels of engagement, collaboration, critical thinking skills and self-reflection. Youth who have access to supportive, liberated spaces are less likely to experience recidivism.
Our goal is to keep that engagement high while providing a platform for expression and facilitating the natural support that artists have for each other in creative, non competitive communities.
Mass Incarceration is dehumanizing, Exposure to other artists (mentors and peers) utilizing their music as a way to make change will energize voices to rise and chains to be broken.
Young Vocalists, Emcees, Poets, Graphic Artists, Writers,Singers in the suburbs or more affluent areas have access to quality arts, music and mentoring all year long. Join us in leveling the playing field this summer.
*ALL SKILL LEVELS WELCOME
