I have to have surgery

Update!! Y’all are so generous and I am extremely grateful. The “down payment” has been reached and surgery is a go! The total for the surgery is $8,000 so I’ve raised the goal amount. A few dollars, sharing on social media, and voting for efficient healthcare are all equally appreciated!

I never thought I’d be begging for help on the internet, but here we are.

Despite paying for health insurance for 30 years, my poor people insurance has a high deductible and won’t cover one bit of my surgery. I have to have a “deposit” of $2500 when I show up for surgery Tuesday. I’ll worry about the other $6K later.

I’m trying to work as much as possible but I had to give up some of my big money making jobs to keep from further injuring myself.

If anyone wants to throw a few bucks my way, it would be greatly appreciated. And if you don’t, that’s ok, too, but please vote with our health care system in mind in all future elections!
