Dear friends and family of Jamie Clark,
Jamie is originally from Saginaw, MN and recently moved to California, realizing a lifelong dream to live in a warmer climate near the ocean.
On 7/28/2022, she was involved in a car crash with a young reckless unlicensed driver that admitted going 70-80 mph on a 55 mph city street. Their paths crossed when he lost control of his car and crashed into her as she was on her way home from work in Lake Forest.
Jamies injuries from the accident involved a fractured sacrum( split down the middle) that required stabilization with rods and screws into her pelvis and vertebrae. She also fractured 3 transverse process. It has been 5 days since her surgery and she is unable to sit or stand unassisted and has yet to take a step. She will have months of therapy ahead of her before hopefully getting back to normal.
California is an at fault state meaning the party at fault must pay the medical bills for causing the accident (medical minimum in Ca. Is $15k, 5k property damage).
Unfortunately the young unlicensed driver that caused the accident has very poor insurance, her lawyer explained, so there will be no large settlement in this case.
Jamie is hoping he can negotiate her medical bills so She doesn’t have to go into bankruptcy
Jamie has some health insurance through her work with an $8200 deductible, The accident totaled her boyfriends 2019 car that they both used to get back and forth to work.
Jamie will be unable to work for months and meanwhile, their rent, bills and need for new transportation continue to mount.
We are asking for any donations large or small to help her through this difficult time. If you are not able to donate please share and pray for her.
