Hi my name is Pooja, writing this with a shaky hands as i still could not believe I and my family are facing this situation.
Thank you to all the friends and colleagues who encouraged me to start this fundraiser. I began crowdfunding late because my family truly believed we could manage everything ourselves. With my salary (~€3.8k), a loan of €18k, our savings, my father’s retirement savings, my husband’s savings (he recently lost his job), and money borrowed from friends and relatives… we still fell short by €186,000.
The last few months were really tough and it broke me hard, as our world collapsed in a single moment when we got the news of my mother diagnosed with the Leukemia-blood cancer.
It all started with the constant fever and weakness after my mothers came back from kulha( hip joint bone)replacement surgery . Assumed that the fever and weakness could be because of medicines or surgery stress but came out in the diagnosis to be Leukemia.
Days passed in getting opinions from one doctor to other , result being the same.
Suggested by doctors to start immediately with the 4sessions of Induction Chemotherapy followed by maintenance , if patient is in remission then 6 sessions of Immunotherapy to be done with lifelong monitoring.

Immunotherapy single session cost upto 48000euro(for 6session approx. equal to 300k euros)
hospital bills+tests would come approx 10-15k euros
We managed to raise small portion through family , friends and savings exhausted in getting the treatment started. Insurances also we checked but most of the treatment need to be paid out of pocket first and reimbursement is limited.
To be able to continue the treatment we urgently need the remaining funds as delay can be dangerous and each sessions need to be done in time.
