Homeless in Rome Georgia
This shuttle bus was purchased to provide transportation for the homeless in Rome Georgia. Currently, the bus is used to transport from Broad Street and surrounding areas to the Armuchee community, to attend church. Our plan is to make this a "Shelter Bus".
The "Shelter Bus" would be equipped with coolers and food preparation appliances to provide coffee, drinks and meals to the less fortunate during their visit. The "Shelter Bus" would serve as a cooling facility in the summer months and a warming facility during the winter months.
The first step in the renovation is to install a 12v refrigerator, sink, and a small cooktop and counter. We also plan to install a 12v tv and DVD player.
The transportation service and stay would be free of charge and would include drinks, snacks and/or a meal, for those in need.
