Help Ryan beat Crohns Disease

Donation protected
For those of you who don’t know, Ryan was diagnosed with Crohns disease a few years ago. Crohns disease is a disease that affects your digestive system and also fights against your immune system.  Since there is no cure, his last major surgery in 2013 removed 12 inches of small and large intestine and colon. Ryan was doing alright living with Crohns but on Friday March 30th, he was admitted to the ER with severe stomach pain. After an overnight stay and morphine to help deal with the pain, a CT scan determined that he had an abscess in his intestine and that he needed to have surgery to drain it. After the surgery, he had to stay in the hospital to recover and was listed as NPO, which means nothing by mouth. Instead all nutrients would be received through his IV and eventually PICC line.  As Ryan recovered from surgery, they discovered that he had a fistula (hole) in his small intestines. After 9 days of rest and medication, the fistula finally healed but the abscess came back. It was in the area where they reconnected his intestine to his colon during surgery when he was previously sick. An additional CT scan determined that he would need to undergo surgery to have another 12 inches of his small intestine removed in the location of the abscess and inflamed intestine. (Bowel Resection Surgery). A NG tube was put in for 3 days to help release the stomach gases. Ryan has now been in the hospital for 29 days. He still cannot eat anything and is trying to deal with the pain. Once he is cleared to go home, he could be going home on TPN therapy for 2 months, resulting in him remaining NPO.  In addition to all of this, Ryan recently started a new job with his new insurance starting on Monday, April 2nd. This happened on the Friday before, forcing Ryan to take out Cobra insurance for the two days he was not covered. He was then informed that his disability claim was denied because he did not work at all during the time his employers insurance kicked in. He has been able to use some PTO but from here on out he will have zero income until he gets healthy and can return to work. Ryan is trying to get better as much as he can so he does not have to do TPN at home. If he does indeed have to do the IV at home, he will not have enough money to support himself and pay for his medical bills and IV as well as his normal bills , especially since his short term disability was denied. The Cobra insurance and the threat of being NPO at home for 2 months has caused a great deal of stress on Ryan and his family. Ryan is being very tough through all of this but the added worry of finances is not helping his recovery. Ryan is a great guy and an even better friend who is always there to help! Well now it’s our turn to help him, so if you could please contribute to our goal of getting Ryan back home, healthy and with a portion of his medical bills paid,  I know Ryan and his family would be very very grateful. Thank you all!
