My name is Daniel Cintron.
My daily life has always been skateboarding, music, spending time with friends & family, and my girlfriend. Recently though, my world came to a sudden hault.
I was experiencing severe shoulder pain when I decided to get it looked at. In the x-rays they found nothing wrong with my shoulder, but instead saw something in the chest area. They immediately called me back the next morning and with back to back appointments I recieved my diagnosis.
I was diagnosed with stage 4 Enlarged B Cell Lymphoma. Lymphoma is cancer that develops in the infection-fighting cells of the immune system. They found two large masses in my chest. One part of a mass is pushing against my lung, not allowing it to expand fully when breathing. Another part of a mass is pushing up against my heart, which is causing fluid to form around the heart. It is hard to do daily things like breath, eat, and sleep.
I have a long, tough journey ahead of me with chemo and radiation treatments, constant testing , blood work, frequent doctor appointments, etc.. I had to take a leave from work, which will make copays, medicals bills, travel expenses, and whatever else may come up difficult to afford.
