Jaxon Harris is 5 and very outgoing and lovin little boy. On Sunday November 22nd Jaxon knocked over a pot of boiling tea water that resulted in having 2nd degree burns over 30% of his left side. Jaxon was flown to Childrens Hospital in St.Louis where he was evaluated by the PAWS unit (Pediatric Acute Wound Servcies). The doctos that evaluated him stated there are several concerning areas but the greatest concern is the circumferential burns to his left arm near the elbow. Heather (mother) is left feeling helpless at this point because he is sedated but having nightmares of having the hot boiling tea water hitting him again. As of Novermber 24th Jaxon is being flown to Cincinnati, Ohio to a Shrinners burn unit for more extensive care. The doctors are worried about Jaxon being left handed and losing range of motion or quality of usage. He will require more trained plastic surgeons than the Children's Hospital can provide.
If you can find it in your heart to donate anything to the Harris Family they will appreciate it more than you will ever know. With the holiday's coming soon everyone has a tight budget and are focused on their family traditions and things that need to be done but take a moment and remember this family will not get to celebrate the joy and laughter at home around the dinner table, they will be in a hospital room next to a 5 year old little boy who is in pain.
