Kenzy's Debut Record!

Hi! My name is Kenzy Peach, I’m a singer-songwriter from Californian suburbia, and I’m making a record!
The record - called Bric-a-Brac Baby - is an exploration of love’s crazy-making intensity, broken down into swallowable stories and cheeky metaphors. My brilliant producer (Leah Gutman, who engineers at Woolly Mammoth Sound) and I focused on playful production, using toy instruments to create a lighthearted sound to contain that bric-a-brac of love.
As this album is like my child, I decided to hold a parent-teacher conference and ask Leah how they would describe the record. Here’s what they said:
“Combined with tender-hearted vocal melodies and performances, this playful production style highlights the veil of humor so often deployed in order to connect vulnerably with others in the often impersonal and automated 21st century. The production style is reminiscent of Rilo Kiley, Sharon Van Etten, Lily Allen, and more.”
Thanks Leah! In addition to their genius, I’ll also be recording with some amazing collaborators - Abby Lim-Kimberg who plays in Sloppy Jane and performs solo as Leng Bian, Ian Cohen who drums in (my favorite band) Guppy, and engineer Drew Gillis who engineers at Igloo Music to name a few.
I am currently able to cover most of the cost of the project, but I’m humbly asking for your help bringing this into the world. As an independent artist, I currently have no label backing the record. This funding will go towards paying the band, mixing, mastering, and distribution. We’ll be in the studio from March 24th-28th at 10 Feet Under in Beverly Hills, and hope to pitch the record to various labels and outlets once it’s finished. Most importantly, I hope you’ll give it a listen :).
I am SO EXCITED to make this project a reality and share it with you soon! I’d like to thank all of you for your time, and to those who I’ve been collaborating with these past few months.
Forever crushing on you,
Kenzy
