On 7/23/25, our family experienced a heartbreaking loss when my dad, Michael McCoy, passed away unexpectedly. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who worked hard all his life. Unfortunately, he did not have life insurance. She found out Friday that she will not be receiving his Social Security check for July. She will be eligible for survivor benefits down the line but that is only 70-80% of what he was getting, which wasn’t much and we are not sure when that will be because we all know how slow the government is with things.

My mom, Lisa, is now facing this new chapter without the financial support they built their life on together.
