HELP ABDUL WALK AGAIN

Donation protected
THIS IS OUR UNFORTUNATE STORY..

My name is Khadijah j Sarr and I'm the sister of Abdul James ( A hit and run victim)

The reason that I'm writing this letter is to PLEAD for help and justice for my brother Abdul.

On January 17th He was hit @ Capitol Ave SE Time was 2253 Hours,

My brother was walking across the street in the pedestrian walkway and was  Struck by (UNNAMED PERSON)
decided at that time to park near zone 3.  THEN call the police

The Date of the accident was January 17th HOWEVER the accident was REPORTED ON JANUARY 25th.

Prior to this we had noticed that My brother Abdul wasn't in contact with the family, as he normally would and that's when we knew something was wrong. It was an instant feeling. Because we last spoke to him on 01/08/2021.

1 week before January 31st my family members went to 450 Capitol Avenue room 807 and the room clerk said" that he checked out on the January 19th.

I went to the police station on January 31, 2021 226 Peachtree Street S.W Atlanta Georgia 30303 to File a police report with officer Johnson incident number is 210310647. To be honest it was brushed off as " he's an adult" I asked the officer Johnson a few times "If I could file a missing person report and if it was "illegal to do so". Eventually he was able to take the report.

On February 12,2021 a Detective T Fantauzzi  (404-546-5547) with Atlanta Police Department Homicide adult Missing person Called "saying she had no reports on my brother Abdul James"

We post flyers for him on Facebook and send them to family and friends to circulate. We called around to the local hospitals, GRADY,BOTH EMORY, PIEDMONT and East Point.

About 3 WEEKS ago Having Family intuition one day my sister Zakiyyah decided TO CALL GRADY HOSPITAL AGAIN. And we discovered that my Brother Abdul was there for over 1 month and he was admitted there on January 17th.

All This time of stress and heartache he was there, we were able to see him via video face chat. He recognized some of us.

He was in a Coma And had Brain Injury and 2 broken legs. He is unable to walk and he's confused and talks things that sometimes don't make sense at times.

To be honest I'm not sure why Grady said" he wasn't there" could it have been that he had no ID on him during this time?

The unidentified person  was released on bond and is now walking around a FREE PERSON FOR NOW. He has turned OUR LIFE AND THAT OF MY BROTHER ABDUL UPSIDE DOWN.

This is NOT THE FIRST TIME BEING IN TROUBLE WITH LAW.

Me & my family IS CRYING AND PLEADING FOR HELP. RIGHT now my brother is at GRADY HOSPITAL unable to walk, his memory goes in and out and what we are being told" from the social workers that " he has to be released "DUE TO NO HEALTH INSURANCE" and that "we would have to care for him".

This is impossible because he would need 24hour care. We are a family of single mothers.

Grady social workers seem like they don't care about the US NOT having the knowledge or capability of taking care of Abdul.

I'm reaching to anyone that can help us with this situation, we are used to seeing Abdul walk around laugh, joke and be happy. This has caused Anxiety and Mental breakdowns in my family because of this whole accident.

Abdul needs Healthcare and 24hr Assistance.

My family and I feel that" we are not being treated fairly From Grady staffers there is no compassion, empathy or sympathy.

Again I'm pleading with someone on my FAMILY BEHALF to HELP us get FAIR JUSTICE FOR MY BROTHER ABDUL JAMES.

And to also Have Charges Brought UP AGAINST (THE UNNAMED PERSON), who is walking around a FREE MAN.

SINCERELY,

A FAMILY IN NEED
