Hi, my name's Kraig, though some may know me as Digi. I'm raising money to help my friend Bas be able to pursue his CISCO certifications without worrying about losing his monthly income.
I'm doing this on his behalf as he's incredibly private about his personal information getting out online, and he's also not one to ask for help from others. With everything he does for other people, Bas deserves to get help when he's most in need
He's been enrolled into a free training course that will give him CISCO certifications and a guaranteed job in the IT sector. The downside is that this will be two months where he can't work as the training is unpaid.
Previously Bas was on disability benefits, but due to changes in the UK on how these benefits are processed, he now no longer qualifies for them. He was injured badly during work several years ago, leaving him with mobility issues, on top of having autism and ADHD.
He lives in a very small and isolated town that's miles away from most major places, and doesn't drive. These factors, along with his issues above, have made getting any kind of employment incredibly hard.
He still managed to get a job that gave him a shift or two a week, which allowed him to pursue training in other avenues in the mean time, and this is how he was picked up for the IT training course. He passed their initial testing and was given the chance to take their advanced course that meant he could receive his CISCO certifications within 2 months, and they'd also assist him getting a job in the same field afterwards.
However, the job suddenly let him go with less than 24 hours notice after promising set hours only a few days prior, and due to his family being low-income he's struggling with continuing this course or dropping it to find a job to pay the bills.
These courses are an amazing chance for him to obtain certifications he otherwise wouldn't get the chance to, and go into a job field that he's incredibly good at but didn't have the qualifications for.
Bas has created and assisted in an incredible amount of projects in the My Hero Academia fandom, from fan events to zines and beyond. He's taken up volunteering to help improve education for low income and disabled kids. He's dedicated to preserving sites that stand for anti-censorship and the freedom of fiction, and has assisted me with my creative event since 2021. He's pretty much the backbone of it, maintaining it in the shadows and running through the walls like a squirrel with a spanner.
He absolutely deserves this chance with taking this IT course to get CISCO certifications. He needs help making sure he can actually keep the lights on while he does it.
The goal is £1500 to help cover his bills for the next two months while he's in training. For transparency, the funds raised will be deposited in my account and then transferred to him, which he is aware of. Anything extra raised beyond the goal would be an additional buffer for between finishing the courses and getting a job.
Help Bas get his education!!
