Recovery and living expenses
Donation protected
On Friday August 30th my Husband Ryan was the sole occupant of a single vehicle crash on Highway 107. During the accident he was ejected from the vehicle and had life threatening injuries. He was transported to the QEII where they discovered he was brain dead. I was living my worst nightmare. In order to be an organ donor it was necessary to wean him off sedation for a thorough evaluation to make sure he was indeed a candidate for donation.
Miraculously, he started to fight. He began moving his arms and legs, fighting against the ventilator and his eyes were responding to light again. I arrived at the hospital early in the morning of August 31st fully expecting the worst case scenario only to be told they were immediately taking him to surgery to give him a fighting chance of getting through this and somehow despite the initial odds he persevered and is currently resting while we wait to see how his brain will heal in the coming days.
We will need monetary support while we fight for his recovery and help care for our 2 sons, Stirling (7) and Jameson (3) and to generally keep our heads above water while we focus on Ryan and his recovery. Thank you to all our friends and family for helping my little family through this horrific accident and continued recovery. Sending love and thanks,
