Delilah’s Surgery

Donation protected
Update 9/20 3:48pm - Delilah’s surgery was a success!!! They were able to locate the blockage in her intestine and get it removed, now begins 2 weeks of recovery! Thank you to everyone who donated and shared the post. All the love and compassion showed means more to her and I than you all will ever know. I’m surrounded by such great friends, family and community that supported me through a terrifying event. Here’s to a speedy recovery for this angel!

As absolutely blessed I am that this situation ended with the best outcome possible, we are still in need of help financially to reach our goal! Please if you are still looking to donate, it would mean the absolute world to help me out financially.

Update 9/19 10:44pm - I just want to first say how incredibly grateful Delilah and I are for the overwhelming love and support we have received. We are not in the clear yet but I wanted to give an update to what the road ahead looks like.

I was able to take Delilah home late today to be in the comfort of home with me while we wait for her surgery first thing tomorrow. It is very important to me to keep transparency to those who have donated or are wanting to donate, as this money is saving Delilah’s life. So far, the first facility was $1,200 for her blood work, exam and X-rays, the second facility that watched over her and provided the must needed fluids was $1,800 and tomorrows surgery will be $1,215. Any help to meet this goal is beyond immeasurable to me and is saving her life.

I will continue to keep everyone updated. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers that this surgery will get her back home and healthy.

Update 9/19 4:00pm - Delilah is scheduled for surgery tomorrow morning. I was able to find a place to take her in for less than I was originally quoted and have reflected the GoFundMe to represent the vet expenses.

On Monday, Delilah began throwing up. She proceeded to throw up regularly around the clock starting at about from about 8 PM until 2AM. Things started to calm down and she managed to fall asleep with me at the edge of my bed. I was hopeful it was just something she ate and she was better. I would later discover that this was not the case as Delilah continued throwing up around the clock throughout the day. Without any sign of slowing down, I took her to the pet ER. I took her to VetUrgency in Frederick, MD where I paid $1200 to get an X-Ray and bloodwork. The X-Ray showed a lot of fluid in her stomach that couldn’t seem to find an exit. On top of this, Delilah was extremely dehydrated and her kidney levels were higher than normal, more than likely because of the dehydration. I was then told I would have to take her to a different pet ER in Rockville, MD because the pet ER in Frederick, MD wasn’t equipped to care for her the way that she needs. I was too much of a mess to drive, so my friend, Justin, drove me. Delilah will need a maximum of $8000 to get intestinal blockage surgery completed in order to save her life and bring her back home with me, where she belongs. Please help bring my dog back home to me and help me. She is my entire world and I have absolutely NO idea what I would do without this girl. God bless everyone and thank you so much.
