This page is dedicated to our dear friend Nicole Bonilla who was diagnosed with a rare form of aggressive uterine cancer over a year ago. Some of you may know Nicole from work, school, (her two boys ages 12 and 17) the community, church, family and friends. Nicole is a mom, wife, daughter, sister and friend to all who have the privilege to know her.
Nicole was diagnosed over a year ago and has showed nothing short of a positive upbeat attitude, sense of humor and a spiritual outlook that has inspired and impressed us all. However, with this challenge, there comes obstacles that become a financial burden. Unfortunately, it can bring on unnecessary stress, when it should be a time of focusing on getting better and battling this disease.
Nicole’s journey has had many ups and downs. She has had radiation treatments , that has resulted in severe back pain, multiple types of chemotherapy treatments, blood transfusions and much more, which are now effecting her physically.
Nicole loves her job working with special needs children. She has rarely missed a day of work throughout her first year of treatment and tests. Having said that, Nicole’s newest chemotherapy treatments have left her feeling very ill and unable to make it to work everyday. She was denied Social Security Disability and is not eligible for FMLA. Nicole, however was able to obtain extra sick days for the time being. If Nicole is unable to work she will lose her job and medical benefits, not to mention the costs of her medications with no insurance.
Please find it in your hearts to help Nicole and her family by making a donation and by passing this on to your family and friends. Please continue to pray and keep positive thoughts for our beloved friend Nicole.
Thank you and God Bless you all!
