He is funny and smart. He works hard at home supporting me through my illness as he struggles at times with his own. He works with his dad sometimes. He does his chores and is respectful and loving. He is polite. He rarely complains. He loves History and nature. He is an "A" student. He is an Altar Server at our Church. He is a Boy Scout. He volunteers his time and energy for his community. He has done so for quite a few years even though he is only 12.
He has been nominated by his teacher to attend the Junior National Leadership Conference in Washington, DC. He has written an essay with his application in the hopes of scholarship money to the Conference.
We hope to hear from them around the 15th.
The cost of attending the conference is 2300.
We have been able to put a deposit down of 500. Financial Aid is not guaranteed so we are reaching out to friends and family for some assistance.
However, instead of just "asking" for donations we want to be able to "give" something in return. Therefore, Diego will play one of his Violin pieces of music for you either in person or on the video phone for donations.
BUT That's not all!!! If you prefer, and if it is logistically possible, he will help donors with yard work (Mowing, pulling weeds, washing cars, walking dogs, etc) to help with the costs. (You don't get to keep him)
The conference is July 30-August 5
Please consider donating for this amazing educational opportunity for Juan Diego.
